Finding a better way to express their value
This project was a short-term contract to help the Injen team rethink their site architecture and provide wireframes for their content, catalog and e-commerce.
Process
I began by interviewing stakeholders, partners, and a handful of customers to determine the most important user needs. I then conducted a thorough analysis of competitors and the adjacent market for after-market car parts. I followed up with a series of calls with the head of sales and IT to review early sketches. I also had discussions with their development team to determine feasibility of my initial ideas.
Solution: A blueprint
Ultimately the architecture came together around a few core areas of the site centered on 3 key areas of concern
Help the user navigate the product catalog easily and reduce friction in the buying process.
Support & Educate the customer with installation and ensuring product compatibility with their vehicle.
Establish trust & credibility with the Injen brand via testimonials, social proof, and the unique story of their technology.
Results: A new plan
I presented my final findings, architecture and wireframes to the CEO, Head of Sales, and Head of IT for Injen. Their structure was such that they used an off-shore team to do the implementation. I consulted briefly with them before wrapping up my part in the project.
